SYDNEY - Taronga Zoo (8/2/12)

What a fantastic day.  We caught the ferry across to the zoo and spent the day there.  So much to see and do.  Highlights were definitely the bird show, where a massive brolga flew straight over Simon’s head and an owl flew straight over Ben’s head.  The kids loved the cockatoos that took money out of peoples’ hands and the rats running along the fence.  Other highlights were the baby elephants, tiger cubs, chimps, finally getting to see a wombat and platypus, the meerkats, the snow bear and the crocodiles.  The sky safari (sky rail) took us over the zoo, with the best views.  Best of all, all of this in such a beautiful location.  Magnificent views of the harbour, bridge etc from most parts of the zoo.  WOW!

We finished off the day with dinner with Lisa, George, Dylan, Byron and Lloyd, friends from Albany who moved to Sydney 4 years ago.  Thanks guys for a lovely dinner and great catch up.

The beautiful view.
