The caravan park was right in the town and an easy 5 minute walk to the beach. For such a small town, there were so many cafes, restuarants and clothing stores. Yes, Donna did make a purchase (just one - a gorgeous dress!)
We visited Ballina, 45kms south west of Brunswick Heads, which is a big regional town of over 40,000. Lighthouse Beach was beautiful.
We also went to Lennox Head, 10kms south of Byron Bay. We loved it here. A much smaller, coastal town which had a great feel about it. Some of the houses were huge. Lennox Head had a beautiful beach. It also has Lake Ainsworth, nicknamed Coca Cola Lake due to the tea trees surrounding the lake that make the water a brown colour. It looked like a very popular swimming spot.
We spent one morning at South Golden Beach, just north of Brunswick Heads. Great beach, beautiful white sand, crystal clear water and waves (which Ben loved diving through or body surfing). He had a ball - even when he got dumped he came up laughing and telling us how much fun it was! Chloe was desperate to join in, but she had to settle to jumping the waves to avoid getting her ear wet!
We have really enjoyed our time here and the NSW coast as a whole. This coast has so many beuatiful places - we could easily spend a year just on this coast! So with some saddness we will leave behind NSW tomorrow as we head to the Gold Coast. The kids are so EXCITED and Simon and Donna are psyching themselves up for a busy, action packed and fun week ahead.
We spent another day at Byron Bay (see separate post).
