Noosa (16/3/12 - 19/3/12)

From Maroochydore we headed 40kms north to Noosa.  What a busy place.  We stayed at the Noosa River Caravan Park, right on the river.  What a beautiful spot.  The day we arrived was warm, sunny and beautiful.  Unfortunately that was the last of the nice weather we saw in Noosa.  The next two days it rained, rained and rained some more.  It did not stop, which was such a shame as we didn't get to see Noosa at its best.  On Saturday and Sunday Noosa had 170mm of rain.

Despite the rain, we still managed to do a few things.  We went to the Eumundi Markets about 20kms from where we were staying.  These were the biggest markets we had ever seen - that sold EVERYTHING.  We could not believe how busy they were given the terrential rain - it took us ages to find a parking spot and the spot we finally found had water 1/2 foot deep!!  We lasted about an hour before the rain became too much.  The kids were happy as they both bought themselves a packet of Pokemon cards.  We also experienced Tibetan food for the first time.  We ate some momos which are dumplings filled with noodles, vegetables and tofu (Simon was not aware of the tofu when we bought them!) and they were delicious.

Chloe and Donna spent an afternoon in Noosa's main shopping area - Hastings Street, the kids got a few rides on their scooters and skateboard and we did a nice drive along the coast.

On Monday we awoke to sunshine (yippee)...and left for Rainbow Beach.
